Barney alerting on live bed bugs on an upholstered chair.

Barney's life was not an easy one.  The good people at Pepe Dogs really love canines and they rescued Barney from a shelter.  We don't know his exact birthday but he is about four years old.

He takes his job seriously because he loves it so much!  When Chuck uses the magic words, Barney knows that he is going to "work" although for Barney it is really playtime.  He is going to get love, attention, food rewards and praise.  What could be better than knowing you are wanted, cared for and loved?

Barney gets along very well with his sister, Chloe, and the newest member of our family, his brother, Hercules.

Yes, Dachshund's love to swim.  At least Chloe does....

Hercules, at 8 months old,  is the size of a pony though my wife is convinced he is an English Mastiff.  Barney loves to play with his "baby" brother.

And this is our dear Vito, who we lost to cancer on June 27, 2011.  We always had a suspicion that Vito was really human; he never acted like a dog.  Sometimes we would catch him playing with dog toys in the living room, but he always did it when he thought no one was looking.

We lost our beloved Chaz to a heart attack on December 30, 2011.  We know that he is happy playing with Vito in Heaven, both young again.  He came to us as a puppy and had corrective hip dysplasia surgery when he was less than one year old.  Even with arthritis and hip problems, he loved to run after his soccer ball in the yard and lay in his pool.

Rest In Peace our sweet puppies.   We miss you.

Barney hard at work in the office.  He not only enjoys finding bed bugs but is a
wizard at administrative work as well.
